If you look at a constant stream of engagement rings, no matter how gorgeous they are, eventually they all start to look kind of the same. Unless, of course, they’re fantastically different, like these rustic, twist-y ring from New York City jeweler Ken & Dana Design, which look a little less refined than mass-produced pieces—in the best possible way.

Italian Heiress Beatrice Borromeo Wore Custom Valentino to Marry Pierre Casiraghi, Grace Kelly’s Grandson

What do you wear down the aisle if you’re an Italian aristocrat marrying the gentleman who’s seventh in line to the throne of Monaco? Haute couture, of course. Beatrice Borromeo picked a one-of-a-kind wedding dress designed by Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli when she swapped vows with Pierre Casiraghi in a civil ceremony on Saturday. (Click here for wedding details.)

The wedding gown was made from a pale pink and gold lace silk chiffon and featured a gentle A-line skirt and a V-neck top with a sheer floral lace overlay. It seems she wore a delicate flower crown in her hair to match, although that could be some kind of tiara; we’ll keep you posted when we get a better look.

Later that evening, the bride slipped into a white gown, also Valentino couture, from the spring 2015 collection. Click here to see Beatrice Borromeo’s other wedding dress.

Are You Overspending on Your Wedding? Here’s One Easy Way to Cut Costs

$

No matter how big or small your wedding budget is, chances are you’re going to go over it once you’re knee-deep in planning. Everything will likely cost more than you expected—and there are loads of hidden costs {corkage fee, anyone? } that you probably forgot to include in your budget tally. But there’s an easy way to save cash without sacrificing style: Skip the reception flowers.

This super-posh table—from the rehearsal dinner of model Hope Dworaczyk, who was married over the weekend—is perfection for a wedding, with zero flowers in sight. Yes, there are candles and crystals for miles, but even if you factor in the cost of the rentals, these centerpieces probably cost way less than a neverending row of fresh blooms. Plus, it would be easy to copycat the look with less-fancy candleholders. CB2’s mix-and-match Numi Candleholders are a good place to start.

Here’s Your First Look at Kaitlyn From the Bachelorette’s Engagement Ring!

Shawn or Nick? Nick or Sean? Given The Bachelorette’s track record for true romance—three weddings in 10 seasons, if you’re keeping track—we kind of don’t care about who gets Kaitlyn Bristowe’s final rose. But we always care about a Neil Lane engagement ring. [Spoiler alerts ahead, in case that wasn't abundantly clear.]

After Kaitlyn passed on Nick, she said yes to Shawn and this sparkler. Here's the engagement ring when Shawn was chatting up Neil Lane:

Like the rest of us, Jimmy Kimmel is sick of committing to a season of The Bachelor/The Bachelorette only to have the couple split up 12 seconds later. [Spoiler alerts ahead, obvs.]

So when the late-night host welcomed bachelorette Kaitlyn and Shawn B., who got her final rose, on the Jimmy Kimmel Live after last night’s Bachelorette finale, he made them SWEAR (on a stack of Us Weekly-s, but still) that they’d tie the knot. Or at least be together for a year. And, we should note, they SWORE.

So Jimmy and Guillermo celebrated by taking Kaitlyn wedding dress shopping. AND bridesmaid dress shopping.

At Last, Tons of Photos From Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross’ Wedding

Even though Ashlee Simpson and Evan Rossswapped vows almost a year ago, so far the only wedding pictures we’ve seen were creepy paparazzi shots from outside the church. But now, as the two are waiting for the arrival of their baby girl, they decided to share a bunch of photos from their wedding day and rehearsal dinner.

First, the rehearsal dinner, where Ashlee wore a sparkly, spangly gown and Evan wore a silly hat.

And the, the wedding itself, where Ashlee nailed it in a crop-top wedding dress by Houghton. And Evan inexplicably showed up in the same goofy hat.

Model (and former Celebrity Apprentice contestant) Hope Dworaczyk married billionaire tech investor Robert Smith over the weekend, and the pictures that have been trickling out have been truly over the top. (Click here to see how the couple’s seven-month-old son, Hendrix, traveled down the aisle as their ring bearer!) The bride wore three couture wedding gowns during their Amalfi Coast nuptials—where John Legend, Seal, Brian McKnight, and DJ Cassidy performed—including this heavily beaded wedding dress with a sweeping train by Naeem Khan.

Here’s a rear view, with that cascading veil:

And here’s an up-close pic:

This video of the bride, close to tears, at the top of the aisle isn’t the best quality, but it’s too pretty not to share:

The bridesmaids also wore custom Naeem Khan gowns.

According to In Touch, the bride and groom asked their guests to make charitable donations in lieu of wedding gifts, and vowed to match those donations, dollar for dollar, up to $1 million.

While We’re Waiting for Part 2 of Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo’s Nuptials, a Look Back at Monaco’s Royal Weddings

$

Pierre Casiraghi, who’s seventh in line for Monaco’s throne, marriedBeatrice Borromeo in a civil ceremony last weekend, but the party’s far from over. The wedding will continue into next weekend, with a religious event and corresponding party on the luxurious Borromean Islands, owned by the bride’s aristocratic Italian family. (Her father is a count.) While we’re waiting for pictures from part deux of their nuptials, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at the more recent royal weddings of Monaco, starting with the groom’s grandmother, Grace Kelly.

Beatrice wore a custom Valentino wedding dress for her civil ceremony.

Prince Rainier III & Grace Kelly
1-monaco-royal-wedding-pictures-gettyThe American actress would give up life as she knew it after Prince Rainier III proposed with a 10.47 emerald-cut diamond in 1956. (Click here for a picture of Grace Kelly’s engagement ring.) Grace and her family had to provide a dowry of $2 million in order for the marriage to go forward, which it did, with a wedding on April 19, 1956. The first of their three children, Princess Caroline—Pierre Casiraghi’s mother—was born nine months and four days after her parents’ wedding.

Princess Caroline & Philippe Junot

Princess Caroline, born in 1957, was heir to the throne of Monaco until the birth of her brother, Prince Albert, a year later. Her first marriage—to Parisian banker Philippe Junot—took place over two days, June 28 and 29, 1978. Guests at the lavish wedding included Ava Gardner, Cary Grant, and Frank Sinatra, but the couple would divorce just two years later; the princess was eventually granted a canonical annulment by the Roman Catholic Church.

Princess Caroline & Stefano Casiraghi

The princess married again in 1983, although not in a church, because the annulment of her previous marriage had not yet been granted. Still, she wed Stefano Casiraghi, heir to an Italian industrial fortune, in a civil ceremony on December 29. The couple had three children—Andrea, Charlotte, and Pierre—and remained married until a 30-year-old Stefano was killed in a boating accident 1990.

Princess Caroline & Ernst August

Caroline opted for a gray suit when she married for a third time, exchanging vows with Ernst August, Duke of Brunswick, on January 23, 1999. The coupled have been plagued by separation rumors since 2009, and Ernst was photographed kissing another woman in January of 2010. They live separately but remain wed, with Caroline residing at Villa Clos St Pierre in Monaco-ville with the couple’s only child, Princess Alexandra.

Prince Albert II & Charlene Wittstock

The former South African swimmer met her prince at a swimming event in Monaco in 2000, but they wouldn’t make their official debut as a couple until the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. The couple made headlines ahead of their 2011 wedding, when Charlene reportedly tried to flee to her native country ahead of the nuptials. They went on to marry though, first in a civil ceremony on July 1, followed by a religious ceremony on July 2. Wedding performers included the Eagles and French composer Jean-Michel Jarre. (Click here for a round-up of more commoners who married into royalty.)

Andrea Casiraghi & Tatiana Santo Domingo
2-monaco-royal-wedding-pictures-gettyLike his brother Pierre’s, Andrea’s wedding can’t technically be called a “royal wedding,” as he doesn’t have a royal title—since the church didn’t initially recognize his parents’ marriage—but it’s worth a mention. The oldest child of Princess Caroline and Stefano Casiraghi married heiress and socialite Tatiana Santo Domingo (reportedly the 847th wealthiest person in the world) in Monaco on August 13, 2013. Part two of their wedding, a religious ceremony, happened six months later in Gstaad, Switzerland, on February 1, 2014, and saw the bride wearing a fur cape into the church. (Hey, Switzerland in February.)

Here they are, sans capes, at last year’s Monaco National Day Gala.

2 Easy Steps to Perfectly Kissable Lips for Your Wedding Day

Obviously exchanging vows and being pronounced husband and wife* are the most important parts of your wedding day, but when it comes to all-eyes-on-you moments, one stands out as the most visible: “You may now kiss the bride.” To make sure your lips are up to the task, follow these two steps, which The Lip Scrub creator Sara Happ shared in our LipstickInstagram chat yesterday.
*Or wife and wife or husband and husband.

best-wedding-lipstick-0730-stocksy

1) Exfoliate!
“Once lips are scrubbed, most girls are amazed at what their lips TRULY look like, and they're uniquely yours!”

2) Match your lip color to your natural lip tone.
“swipe on a slightly heightened version of whatever your lips actually look like. You'll look like yourself and never regret a color that's not totally you.”

That’s it. Two steps to the perfect kisser. We told you it was easy.

Ignore the Rumors: Kylie Jenner Promises She’s Not Headed Down the Aisle, Despite the Ring on THAT Finger

$

0

Are Kylie Jenner and Tygaengaged? The rumor mill has been churning overtime since Kylie’s been spotted out and about in recent weeks with a majorly sparkly ring on THAT finger. We were inclined to say no after getting a better look at the ring in question on Snapchat earlier this week:

1-kylie-jenner-tyga-engaged-0731-snapchat

Yes, it looks like her right hand here, but since she’s shooting selfie-style, the pic is reversed. That’s her left hand with a trio of thin bands and a diamond-encrusted version of Cartier’s Love Ring. Technically that ring marketed as a wedding band. But hold your “Are they married?!” horses: Since Kylie’s 17 until next week, she would have needed both her parents’ and a judge’s consent to walk down the aisle—and we don’t see Kris or Caitlyn letting that fly.

Last night Kylie took to Twitter to either clear things up herself—or confuse them further:

Notice she didn’t flat-out say, “I’m not engaged” though. A couple could very well be engaged and “not plan on getting married any time soon.” And there are no laws about getting engaged to a minor.

And still, this feels more like the Kardashian-Jenner clan pulling the media’s strings, since when they do have engagement news to share, they tend to announce it in a very public fashion.

Meet the Belgian Prince Who Gave Up His Chance to Be King When He Married a Commoner

$

Marrying a non-royal isn’t a big deal for plenty of royals: Prince William married Kate Middleton, of course, and made her a duchess. Earlier this summer, former reality-TV star Sofia Hellqvist swapped vows with Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip; she’s now Princess Sofia of Sweden, Duchess of Varmland. And here are nine more non-royals who have married in to royalty. NBD.

But for Prince Amedeo of Belgium, it was a big deal. He and his now-wife, Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein—she goes by the much more low-key “Lili”—celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary this month. And the palace confirmed this week that because Prince Amedeo failed to obtain a royal decree for the marriage from the king, he effectively gave up his place in the succession.

amadeo-lili-belgium-royal-wedding-0731-getty

Read more about Prince Amadeo and Lili’s wedding here. (She’s a writer!)

Granted, Prince Amedeo probably never would have been king. On his wedding day, he was sixth in line to the throne, currently held by King Philippe, after a host of the king’s children. (Amedeo’s mother is Princess Astrid, the king’s sister, so he’s a nephew of the king.) But the move was no oversight: According to The Times, “palace sources claim that the prince chose to deliberately give up his right to the throne so that he could live an independent life with wife Lili, free of any official role.” The couple currently live in New York City.

The king did attended the wedding, but he never expressly gave his permission for the marriage. (If he had, according to the Daily Mail, the marriage would have been “officially gazetted in the Moniteur Belge with a decree giving 'dynastic authorization.’”) So Lili doesn’t get a royal title from her mother-in-law’s side of the family, but she is now archduchess of Austria and princess of Hungary, titles that pass to her via father-in-law, Lorenz, the Archduke of Austria-Este. So not a bad consolation prize.

It’s been a busy week for Monaco’s royal family: Beatrice BorromeomarriedPierre Casiraghi, the son of Monaco’s Princess Caroline—the eldest daughter of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier—in a religious ceremony in northern Italy earlier today, following a prior ceremony seven days ago.

The bride and groom were married in a civil ceremony in Monaco last weekend, with the bride donning a pink-and-gold couture Valentino gown. (Click here to see Beatrice Borromeo’s fist wedding dress.) For today’s festivities, Beatrice picked a custom-made ivory Giorgio Armani Prive wedding dress, and the groom wore a three-piece grey suit.

You don't have to go far for a beach vacation. These five great resort areas offer sun, sand, and fun, no passport or long-hail flights required.

couple-beach

Miami, Florida
Miami's hot South Beach has its own personality. With sun bathers in teeny tiny bikinis and roller bladers in hot pants, you'll want to bring your coolest duds or, you know, plan to shop when you get here.
Don't Leave Without: You must try a Cuban sandwich, and the very sweet high-octane Cuban coffee called a cortadito.

The Hamptons, New York
This elegant beach escape, just a few hours' drive from Manhattan, offers a luxurious celeb-filled take on a sandy honeymoon. We especially like Southampton and East Hampton if you've never been out to the South Fork before.
Don't Leave Without: Walking the streets of town with your eyes open; in peak season, these shopping districts are ripe for celeb spotting.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts
What the Hamptons are for New Yorkers, Cape Cod is for the Boston crowd: a convenient sunny, summery getaway when you want a dose of sand.
Don't Leave Without: Celebrate your childhood summers with a date night of miniature golf followed by ice cream cones.

Santa Monica, California
There's plenty of people-watching in Los Angeles' beach retreat, where the pier has amusement park rides and the avocado and seafood-spikes dishes are a way of life.
Don't Leave Without: Get into the California way of life, and set aside a day to relax on the beach until the sun starts to set.

San Diego, California
If the beaches in Southern California fly under the radar a bit, it's only because the locals take them for granted as a birthright. Still, you'll be amazed by just how many big, wide stretches of sand you'll find here.
Don't Leave Without: The Baja-style fried fish tacos will be something you dream of for years to come.

Beatrice Borromeo Has an Ultra-Simple Wedding Band and a New Mrs. Casiraghi Clutch After Marrying Grace Kelly’s Grandson

If you had access to a nation’s crown jewels, you could probably pick up some serious bling on your wedding day. But that doesn’t seem to happen as brides marry into royal families. Kate Middleton’s wedding ring is a plain gold band.

Spain’s Queen Letizia, too, wears a plain gold wedding band.

Her engagement ring is thick band of diamonds instead of a solitaire, and Spaniards traditionally wear their rings on the right hand.

And Beatrice Borromeo—who married Pierre Casiraghi, the second son of Princess Caroline of Monaco, in a religious ceremony over the weekend, also got a plain gold ring as her wedding band. Here are some blurry shots of the new ring.

When actress/fashionista/blogger Jamie Chung is the bride being feted, you’d better believe the bridal shower is going to be a fabulous affair. And it was. Attending a wedding this month? How ’bout two? Three?! Well, you can go to a wedding every weekend for a whole month and spend just $49 bucks, total, on your wardrobe—without wearing the same thing twice.

Here’s the deal: You sign up at letote.com and start organizing your virtual closet. If you have a bunch of weddings coming up, you’d probably add a lot of dresses and jumpsuits, plus accessories. (There are pants, skirts, tops, and outerwear, too.) Then you pay $49, pick what’s in your first tote—three items of clothing and two accessories—and Le Tote sends ’em to you. (Shipping is free both ways.) You wear your items, put them back in the prepaid envelope, then drop them in a mailbox. Let Le Tote know they’re on their way, and they’ll send your next tote.

So that means, for a wedding weekend, you could have a rehearsal dinner, wedding, and morning-after brunch dress—plus accessories. All you’d need from your own closet are pajamas and underwear. You get an unlimited number of totes every month, so it seems like if you stayed on top of shipping, you could slip some workweek outfits in between weekends, too. And if you fall in love with anything, just keep it and they’ll charge you the “Member Price.” (Usually under $100.)

Here are six things we adore for a wedding weekend. (Obviously all of them aren’t wedding-worthy—but there are generally several events surrounding the wedding; see above.)
