I Do or I Don't: Would You Plan Your Wedding on a Holiday?

As we're enjoying our work-free Labor Day (at least, most of us are—I know some of you might actually be, you know, laboring), here's something to ponder: there are people having weddings today!

It's one thing to have a wedding on a holiday weekend—and Kim put together an excellent list of pros and cons about doing so (hey, Kate Bosworth and Seth Meyers thought it was a "do," each getting married—to other people, of course!—this holiday weekend)—but what about on the holiday itself? Would you do it?

Obviously, you can plan your wedding for any day you want. But choosing a major holiday means that some invited guests just might not be able to come, since they have plans to spend with their families or go on vacays of their own.

Still, some holidays seem like they're totally fine for weddings—how many Valentine's Day or Halloween weddings have you attended (with themes to match, of course)?

So what about a day like today? Yes, it's a Monday, which brings plenty of challenges on its own (as well as some benefits—hey, guests won't have to ask for an extra day off of work). But would you ever have a wedding on a holiday—or would you attend one, as a guest?

More wedding etiquette questions:
* Can your mom be your maid of honor?
* Do you have to attend more than one party for newlyweds-to-be?
* Should the bride pay for her bridesmaids' dresses?
