Hopefully your skin's in the best shape of its life thanks to months of pre-wedding attention, but it's still smart to take a few steps right before the main event to offset any effects of last-minute stress. Try these pre-wedding skin-boosting tips from celebrity hairstylist and makeup artist Joshua Ristaino, for a start.
1. "Beauty starts from within. If you’ve been fighting pre-wedding jitters by raiding the fridge for high-cal snacks, stop. Up your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, all rich in good-for-your-skin antioxidants. And drink more water—staying hydrated keeps you energized. Catching up on your beauty sleep will not only help to prevent dark circles, but it will also allow your skin to go into repair mode so that you wake up glowing."
2. "If you stayed up late after the rehearsal dinner or indulged in extra cocktails, treat your skin to a little extra TLC the morning of the big day," he says. "I recommend cleansing your face with Avene Thermal Spring Water because it’s so soothing and has anti-inflammatory benefits. Just spray it on generously, and then gently pat dry. You’ll find your moisturizer goes on more smoothly. A light misting after applying makeup will also keep your makeup looking fresh."
3. "Next, refresh and brighten tired eyes with Klorane Eye Smoothing Patches; put them on and relax for 10 to 15 minutes. These patches infused with cornflower, arnica, and chamomile not only feel cooling, which helps to reduce puffiness, but also soften fine lines around the eye area."
