Our Kat Thomsen wore a custom wedding dress, so she never got the glam, girly salon trip—until I dragged her to Kleinfeld with five other married editors. WHAT SHE LEARNED:
“Though I enjoyed every second of my custom dress creation (it was a yearlong collaboration between me and designer Nile Cmylo), our Kleinfeld adventure made me wish I would’ve at least tried the whole bridal-salon experience back then, because it was so girly and fun to explore them in a group. I never even tried on a wedding dress other than mine until our Glamour outing (no one but me and Nile even saw my dress until I walked through the church doors), and I had so much fun! And I also learned that while my mother-in-law might’ve found my dress a bit on the sexy side, it could’ve been so, so, so much worse (by which I mean better!) on the sexy scale.”
