Holy light fixtures, Batman. Venice’s five-star Hotel Cipriani is being fitted with “crystal chandeliers and lavish place settings” as the prep moves into full swing ahead of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s wedding, which is reportedly happening Saturday. (Check out Us Weekly’s photo of the wedding prep and said chandeliers.)
Amal’s mother, Baria, and sister, Tala, have already checked into the 79-room hotel, as have more family members. A source told Us, “They seem excited about the festivities. I heard her mom say, ‘I can't believe it's actually here!’”*
*Does that ring a little untrue to anyone else? They’ve been engaged for six months.
Amal arrived in Milan yesterday, and she and her groom are expected to make their way to Venice today, along with their A-list guest list, including Matt Damon, Luciana Barroso, Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford, and Bono. (Wedding guests will likely find a copy of the new U2 album downloaded to their iPhones during the rehearsal dinner. JK. I’m sure they all already unwittingly have it.)
Here’s how the rest of the wedding weekend will reportedly play out: “Lavish” rehearsal dinner at Hotel Cipriani tonight. Breakfast at the hotel’s Cip's Club or Oro restaurant tomorrow A.M. Everyone moves by boat to the the “seven-star”* Aman Canal Grande, where the ceremony will go down. Party at the Aman. Back to Hotel Cipriani for the after-party party, including fireworks. Day-after dinner at Cipriani, and then a civil ceremony on Monday. Whew.
*Seven stars? That seems superfluous.
