Perhaps I'm phenomenally insecure, but I always like to look my extra-best as a wedding guest. First of all, I know photos are going to be live-posted, tagged, and hashtagged ALL over social media as the wedding's happening. And even if no one's on Facebook during the wedding {Yeah, right. } the bride and groom will likely have pics of their wedding guests displayed all over their home for the next 30 or so years, and I don't want to look back at a photo of myself in a dumpy cocktail dress every time I visit.
And if there's a frenemy or an ex-boyfriend on the guest list? Fuggetaboutit. I will be wearing this dress, and there's nothing you can do to stop me:
This dress—which reminds me of Judy Jetson in the BEST possible way—is one of six dresses that Monique Lhuillier designed exclusively for Rent the Runway, just in time for wedding season. I'm obsessed with the make-'em-look-at-you color and the edgy silhouette. I may have yelled "HOT DAMN!" when I saw the dress on a hanger. (Only slightly mortifying, because I was with a small group of people.)
