Say Yes to the Dress star and all-around wedding tastemaker Randy Fenoli made an appearance on Katie Couric's Katie yesterday to dish about wedding style with the recently engaged talk-show host/three-time Glamour Woman of the Year.
My favorite tidbit from the clip: "With veils, I always say, 'You NEED to wear some kind of veil,'" Randy insists. "Without a veil, you're just a pretty girl in a white dress."
I generally don't agree with by-the-books wedding "rules" (or style edicts dictated by a guy, no matter how fab), but I'm kind of on board with him here—and I was a bride who didn't wear a veil. Here's the thing: For most girls, your wedding day is probably the one day in your ENTIRE life that you'll get to wear a veil. Why NOT take advantage? And, hey, it comes off. So even if you only wear a veil for your 30-minute ceremony, it'll make for some extra-pretty pictures.
Still can't get on board with a veil? Then you'll want to refer to Randy's first rule: "Every rule is meant to be broken." But at least review my 3 Reasons to Try on Veils, Even If You Really, Really Think You Don’t Want to Wear One before you decide for sure.
Will you wear a veil on your wedding day?
