Petra and I were discussing last night how annoying posed professional portraits have become. (Not just engagement photo shoots, but the family shoots, the new baby shoots, the anniversary shoots. Does a milestone not count any more unless it's professionally photographed?) Can we quit it with the matching outfits already? And the trying to look natural while lying in a field? There is NOTHING natural about lying in a field. People don't DO that unless they're having their photo taken. #endrant
Anywho, clearly this guy was annoyed with the constant stream of engagement portraits in his Facebook news feed, so he staged a little photo shoot of his own—complete with the lying-in-a-field shot—with the object of his affection. A ladder.
Is your Facebook feed clogged with professional portraits, too? Are engagement photos a DO or a DON'T?
We skipped 'em, but I do think they're useful if a bride and groom need time to get comfortable with the photographer. That said, maybe don't upload all 219 photos from the session onto Facebook.
