Kim Kardashian has been flashing her massive engagement ring from Kanye West for more than two years now. But just now Lorraine Schwartz, the jeweler to the stars who designed Kim’s bling, shared two things we didn’t know about it.
Lorraine shared a picture of the Vogue Espana cover, with Kim and her ring front and center, and mentioned that the diamond is “D Flawless.” The “D” refers to the ring’s color, which is graded on a scale from D to J with D having the best (or least) color. And the “Flawless” is the ring’s clarity, which is rated on a scale from “Flawless” to “Slightly included,” with “Flawless” being the best, obviously. We also just recently noticed something else that makes Kim’s ring extra special: In addition to the diamonds on the band, the center stone is resting on an additional ring of diamonds, which serves to amplify the sparkle. You can juuuuust see in these pics.
One thing you can’t see in those pics: a wedding band. Kim is one of many married celebrities who don’t wear wedding rings. Probably, in her case, because having any more sparkle on one finger is illegal in seven countries. (Not really.) She does have an wedding band, but I don’t know if we’ve ever seen it since her wedding day.
