Ladies, the most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us. Obviously we’re talking about engagement season, the stretch from Thanksgiving to Valentine’s Day when Facebook looks like an engagement ring factory exploded all over it. Which celebs will get engaged in that window? Here are our best guesses, which have been surprisingly accurate in the past.
This list is alphabetical, but these two would be at the top any way you stack it. They’ve been dating since 2010, and Demi said over the summer “if he asked tomorrow I would say yes”—despite their age difference. (He’s 35, she’s 23.)
Karlie Kloss& Joshua Kushner
These two have been quietly dating since 2012, when they met at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. (So, happy anniversary, guys!) The marriage would make Karlie sisters-in-law with Ivanka Trump, who’s married to Josh’s older brother, Jared.
Lea Michele & Matthew Paetz
Lea and Matthew have kept their relationship out of the press since they began dating in June of 2014, but lately the Scream Queens star can’t help but gush about her boyfriend, who she recently called “handsome” in an Extra TV interview.
OK, we’re ready, guys! Lena said for years that these two wouldn’t head to the chapel (or its hipster equivalent) until gay marriage was legalized for everyone in the U.S.—which, in case you’re coming out of a coma, it was in June. Days later, Lena prompted Jack to “get on it, yo” so this one is basically in the bag.
Mariah Carey& James Packer
After a summer of his-and-her globetrotting, Mariah recently moved into her billionaire boyfriend’s digs. Yes, they’re just five months into their relationship, but we’re guessing the next step happens at lightening speed.
We love a longshot engagement prediction, but this one is the opposite of that. The Gotham costars announced in September that they’re expecting a baby together, and she said, in a legal statement, days later: “I’m in a new committed relationship. I am planning to remarry.” So keep your eyes on her left hand.
Olivia Munn& Aaron Rodgers
The actress and the quarterback will celebrate two years of dating next year; they were first spotted together in Malibu in May of 2014. They’ve since moved in together, and adopted a dog, Chance.
Paris Hilton& Thomas Gross
Paris is vocal about her affections for her Swiss businessman boyfriend, who she called her “soulmate” over the summer. .
This one’s a carryover from last year’s list. We’ve said for ages that these two are destined for “I do,” and now that they’re expecting a baby together, we couldn’t be more certain.
Sarah Hyland& Dom Sherwood
Puppy love: These two haven’t been dating for long, but they already got inked together—and adopted a dog. Their engagement might not happen during engagement season, but it’s happening.
In case you’re not keeping track, here are all the celebrity engagements we predicted before they happened: Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux, Drew Barrymore & Will Kopelman, and Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively in 2011, Kim Kardashian & Kanye West, Jason Sudeikis & Olivia Wilde, and Kelly Osbourne & Matthew Mosshart in 2012, Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher, Mary-Kate Olsen & Olivier Sarkozy, and Olivia Palermo & Johannes Huebl in 2013, and Nikki Reed & Ian Somerhalder, Lady Gaga & Taylor Kinney, and Cameron Diaz & Benji Madden in 2014. We have a pretty spectacular track record here, people.
Longtime readers might notice that Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson didn’t make the list for the first time ever; that’s because we kind of think they’re already married.
Another couple we love who you don’t see above: Ariel Winter and her boyfriend of two years, Laurent Gaudette. Despite the fact that the Modern Family actress is a mere 17 years old, tabloids have already put a ring on her finger, which she was quick to point out yesterday is ridiculous.
