While A-list American brides are showing more and more skin (see: Ashlee Simpson’s crop-top wedding ensemble, Olivia Palermo’s wedding shorts) this Spanish celebrity went for a much more covered-up wedding dress. Spanish MasterChef host Eva Gonzalez opted for an unembellished long-sleeve gown with a boatneck-style bodice when she married bullfighter Cayetano Rivera over the weekend. Her silk and crepe Pronovias gown is almost unremarkable—until you see the amazingly gorgeous rear view.
The dress seems to be a combination of Pronovias’ Ivania wedding dress (left, below), which has the same ultra-simple front with an open back, and the Vania gown (right, below), which has open-work sleeves and an illusion back cutout that cuts way low.
The figure-skimming shape and the hint of skin on Eva’s wedding dress are obviously more subtly sexy than a gown that dips so low it threatens to reveal the bride’s underwear—or her belly button. But subtle sexiness feels more on point when you’re, say, dancing with your dad or chatting up your mom’s boss during cocktail hour. Hollywood brides, take note.
