How would you feel if your husband-to-be decided to pick out your dress?
Because—according to a new survey by Mintel—19 percent of grooms are either entirely or mostly responsible for choosing their wife-to-be's wedding dress.
Says Fiona O’Donnell, lifestyle and leisure analyst at Mintel: “Women are still the primary wedding planners, but the bottom line is that the groom is a key consumer for industry players to consider when developing marketing strategies—particularly in regard to groom and wedding party attire, food or catering, music, ceremony site, and reception venue."
It's not entirely clear how grooms are responsible for their brides' dresses—do they actually see all of the possibilities? Or is it more of a "wow, babe, I sure do like strapless dresses with A-line skirts"—but it definitely presents an interesting question...
