Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have called it quits for realz, it seems. Us Weekly's cover story this week announces, "It's Over! Miley is crushed as Liam calls off the wedding. What tore the two of them apart and why his family is so relieved."
I always warn that we should take tabloid reports with a grain of salt, but given how tumultuous their four-year relationship has been over the past few months—AND the fact that the news is in Us Weekly, which I trust—I'm going to call this turkey cooked. Or overcooked, as it were.
The fact that Miley's not freaking out and fighting the rumors on Twitter, as she has in the past, also tips the scales in favor of "done-zo," IMHO. Further proof: Billy Ray Cyrus said a few months back that he wasn't sure if the two would make it down the aisle. And Snoop Llama Lion hinted last month that the wedding was off.
According to Hollywood Life, which appears to have gotten its hands on the issue, Liam's brothers, Chris and Luke Hemsworth, encouraged him to call off the wedding because he was "miserable."
From the site: "Liam reportedly ended his engagement with Miley at the end of May, and his family couldn't be happier. 'They are definitely over,' says a source, but Miley has yet to return her engagement ring. Miley confirmed the breakup to a friend by saying 'We're done.'"
Thoughts on Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus' reported split?
Assuming it's true, I 100-percent think it's for the best. I feel like they've become different people over the course of their relationship, and there's no shame in saying, "This isn't working for either of us anymore." I wish more Hollywood couples would do that instead of having a quickie wedding followed by a quickie divorce.
