Eddie Redmayne just stepped out for The Theory of Everything premiere in London with fiancee Hannah Bagshawe—and her new engagement ring. (I would hate that suit on anyone else, but he looks insanely dapper, no?)
But let’s focus in on what’s important here: that ring. Looks like a round solitaire in a four-prong setting with some diamonds set in the band. I’d guess it’s around 2.5 carats, max, and it looks perfect on her hands.
I love how A-list Brits just aren’t buying into the whole doorknob-size engagement ring thing. Keira Knightley’s engagement ring is a modest round solitaire, and Zayn Malik picked a reasonably sized engagement ring for Perrie Edwards too. (Hers is the sparkliest, with a trio of diamonds, but it’s probably still no more than three carats, total.) And Hollywood might just be catching on: Both Mila Kunis' and Emma Roberts' engagement rings show some restraint on the part of their men. (See their rings here.) Obviously famous people earn their $$$ and can spend it as they see fit. But the trend stateside had been rings so big you almost need to wear them on two fingers, so I’m glad things are swinging in the other direction.
Thoughts on Hannah Bagshawe’s engagement ring from Eddie Redmayne? Do you think the engagement rings have gotten out of control in Hollywood?
