When it comes to shopping for wedding dresses, you might think I’d be somewhat of an expert. But I learned a surprising lesson when I went “second time” wedding dress shopping (at Kleinfeld!) with five other married Glamour girls.

Yes, I know I look bananas here, but when they told me they had the Sex and the City movie dress, obviously I jumped into it. Sweetheart A-Line Gown in Satin (Style 32953184) by Vivienne Westwood.

Wedding Dress 3: Pnina Tornai This was my “Hell, No” Dress, for sure. But Petra basically forced me to try it on. And then they almost had to pry it off me.

WHAT I LEARNED:
“My mom—an all-business accountant—came down from Rhode Island for a wedding-dress-shopping blitz. I wound up with a wedding dress I loved, but, frankly, I didn’t enjoy the process very much. This time around, I had so much FUN. I wish I had been a little more chill during my first go. If I could do it all again, I think I would have packed in fewer appointments. And sipped a little more champagne.”

Celebrity manicurist Pattie Yankee created these stiletto glitter-fade nails for her friend Michelle Ochs, cofounder of the fashion label Cushnie et Ochs. "Had to bling out the nails of my lovely friend @ochsmichelle to be worthy of her humongous engagement ring!" Pattie said on Instagram. Mission accomplished!

I'm not really a ginormous-bling or long-nails type of girl (hey, I grew up in Maine), but I can totally get into this look on someone else—especially Michelle Ochs, who's known for rocking really cool nail art. Plus, as a girly girl at heart, I have trouble saying no to extreme amounts of sparkle. This mani just makes me happy.

We don't see Selena Gomez with her hair slicked back too often, but she wore the chicest chignon for Tuesday's L.A. premiere of Rudderless—and we have her secrets to this flyaway-free smoothness. Try them next time you're wearing a sleek updo to a wedding (your own or a friend's!).

To get this smooth look, Selena's hairstylist for the event, Lona Vigi, recommends starting with freshly washed hair (as opposed to when you're making a big, voluminous updo). She used Uberliss Hydrating Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner to prep for less frizz.

Then gently towel-dry hair and apply a moisturizing, cuticle-sealing shine cream from roots to ends (Vigi used Uberliss RituOil on Selena). Blow your hair flat using a paddle brush, then make a part and pull hair into a ponytail. "In order to make the chignon more secure, I back-combed the tail for more texture," Vigi says. Wrap the ponytail into a chignon and secure with pins to match hair; finish with a few more dabs of the shine cream, then hairspray to keep flyaways tame.

What are your favorite tricks to keeping a formal updo sleek (but not helmet-y)?

I can't really see straight or feel my feet, but I can't go another minute without sharing all these dreamy wedding dresses.

I never even tried on a wedding dress other than mine until our Glamour outing (no one but me and Nile even saw my dress until I walked through the church doors), and I had so much fun! And I also learned that while my mother-in-law might’ve found my dress a bit on the sexy side, it could’ve been so, so, so much worse (by which I mean better!) on the sexy scale.”

Here it is with a veil. Could you just die over how gorgeous she looks?

WHAT SHE LEARNED:
“I had such a clear vision as to what I wanted for my wedding dress, but it was such a thrill to get to try on dresses that the experts specifically chose for me. While I still love love love my wedding dress, it was a great experience to step out of my comfort zone and try something on that I would have never picked for myself.”

Which of these wedding dresses is your favorite for Kelly? For yourself?

I love bridal market for everything it is, but it doesn't draw A-listers to the front row like regular Fashion Week. (Which is good—more room for me.) So even though I couldn't name one Jonas Brothers song if you paid me, I was kind of excited when Kevin and Danielle Jonas were front and center at Pnina Tornai, a mere three seats down from me. I thought maybe they were having an OTT vow renewal, but it sounds like Danielle has a friend who's in the market for a wedding dress. Our dear Lindsey (the blogger formerly known as Engagement Chick!) tried on, she guesses, 80 to 100 dresses (!) before falling in love with a mere six. Even after casting five aside—AND trying on super-posh wedding dresses with me at Kleinfeld, see below—she’s still thrilled with the “princess-meets-modern fantasy dress” she wore on her wedding day. Which brings us to our final wedding-dress shopping tip: Trust your gut. You might not have a teary “This is THE dress moment” {I didn’t }, but if you’re just feeling it in the pit of your stomach, I think you know—even if you’re not inspired to yell “YES!” to your bridal consultant.

Diane and Josh have been on my they’re-SO-going-to-get-engaged list several times. I know there are plenty of naysayers, but I still have a hunch that a wedding’s in the cards for these two. (Yes, Diane told Glamour that she’d never marry again. But Halle Berry said the same—and she and Olivier Martinez just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary. And Josh JUST told Glamour—exact quote—"We may get married.")

How crazy was it to see an engagement ring (and a wedding ring!) on Diane Kruger’s left hand? Did anyone else freak the freak out?

So far we’ve been feeling sad-trombone-y about the new direction the, um, New Directions are taking on the final season of Glee. The sad news is Rachel’s returning to McKinley—I know, say what? But E!’s reporting that we have a MAJOR engagement to look forward to early on in season six.

So who’s getting down on one knee? Well, this tweet from Naya Rivera suggests it might be a Brittana proposal.

But, as Hollywood Life points out, on-again-off-again couple Puck and Quinn are reportedly back on this season, so is there proposal potential there? Since the season takes place several years from where we last left off, we could also learn that Rachel has a new boyfriend. Or maybe Kurt and Blaine have found new loves? (Say it ain’t so!)

These photos from Vera Wang’s fall 2015 look book are absolutely giving me chills. Blame the mood lighting or the moody-looking models, but I think my chills can be attributed to the fact that this is my favorite collection of wedding dresses from Vera in recent memory. The colors are soft—with shades of ivory, gold, and rose gold—the fabrics are flowy, and (assuming the super-size shoulder flowers are removable) the dresses just feel infinitely wearable.

I know you guys get frustrated when we can’t see the full front and back of every dress, but these are the only pics Vera’s sharing, so I suggest just getting lost in the prettiness we can see.

Which of these wedding dresses do you like best?

I threatened to walk out of the showroom with No. 4 during the press preview. Thankfully I was able to exercise some restraint.

With friends and family members scattered around the globe—Sri Lanka, Iran, Rwanda, Kenya, London, and Minneapolis—Penny and Daniel knew that no matter where they chose to marry, their wedding would be a destination wedding of sorts. They picked Navy Beach in Montauk, New York, a two-hour drive from New York City, where they met while working at the Clinton Global Initiative five years earlier.

Their ceremony—officiated by a friend who was ordained for the occasion—was as unique as their guest list, with blessings and readings from multiple religions, including Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity, and traditions borrowed from different cultures. (Penny’s favorite: a Sri Lankan wedding tradition in which the officiant breaks a coconut to bless the couple with children and drive away evil spirits.) Here’s a peek into their oceanfront celebration.

WHY I’M SURPRISED: Obviously Olivia Palermo’s no stranger to trendsetting, but I didn’t think her wedding look—shorts and a semi-sheer over-skirt by Carolina Herrera—would translate for a non-socialite bride. Boy, was I wrong. Shorts-and-skirts combos were everywhere. And I love ’em.

TREND: PROHIBITION-ERA-INSPIRED SPANGLES AND SPARKLES

WHY I’M SURPRISED: Even before Baz Luhrmann’s hyper-visual reimagined take on The Great Gatsby hit theaters, the blockbuster inspired Prohibition-era fashion throwbacks: sparkles, fringe, feathers, and gold. I felt like the flapper moment had sort of passed, but most of these dresses won’t be available till fall 2015—meaning brides can tap their inner Daisy Buchanan for at least another year.
