Many of Vera's dresses were a return to classic silhouettes, but there were plenty of surprises, too: All of the models wore elbow-length leather gloves!

I ADORE this dress for a boho bride!

I wasn't familiar with Temperley's accessories, but they're TOTALLY my scene! So blingy!

I'm not sure if they'll sell the black-and-white dresses in those colors, or if they'll be made in white and ivory. I'm going to the showroom later this week to check out the new White by Vera Wang collection, so I'll try to remember to ask! (I know when Vera showed her collection in shades of red two seasons ago, the dresses were sold in white and ivory, which is also how they were shown on the European runways!)

What better way to spend a Monday morning than hanging out at the Oscar de la Renta spring 2014 bridal show? I went backstage to catch some behind-the-scenes action on Vine before the models took the runway. We're talking gorgeous jewelry, braided updos (featuring said jewelry), and—of course—some of the frothiest, prettiest wedding gowns you'll ever see. Apologies in advance for any dizziness caused by either the dresses or, more likely, my shaky hand with the camera.

First up: The shoes. How cute are those tiny flower girl flats?

The braided, bejeweled updos were beyond.

Miley Cyrus's engagement ring goes on and off more than the lights in a haunted house, so I've pretty much used up my capacity for caring about her ring finger at this point, but for anyone who's still keeping tabs, the current status is OFF.

But more interesting than Miley's inability to commit to wearing her engagement ring: SnoopDoggJaguarXolo Lion, who she recently collaborated with on the single "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks," says Miley's relationship "no longer exists."

"The single is doing very well because it's one of those records that speaks to change, turnaround, ya know, just going through things. And we both just going through something right now," Snoop said on a segment on HuffPost Live. "I can't speak for her, ya know what I'm saying, but I know that she has a relationship that no longer exists. I know she's probably in a transformation change with her life, her music [and] her career."

Granted, Snoop DoggPandaLynx doesn't say WHICH relationship in Miley's life has ended, so perhaps he doesn't mean her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, but that feels like the implication to me.

I'm not judging people who take traditional "engagement photos" {Although it's funny to say "traditional" when the tradition has been around for less than a decade! }—they just weren't something Rory and I were interested in. I mean, I've heard they're a good way to get used to working with your wedding photographer, which makes TOTAL sense if you're up for a private photo shoot. But I feel like a huge dork in front of any camera, so having a whole session where the camera was focused on me just wasn't going to happen.

And really, I don't know, when a bride and groom get 200 photos back where they're, like, jumping and holding a giant balloon, don't they feel a little bit silly? Maybe that's the point? In any event, I love that THIS engaged couple, Casey Grim (who kinda looks like Katy Perry!) and Adam McLaughlin, embraced the silliness of it all!

Backstage at the Marchesa bridal runway show, Gucci Westman, Revlon’s global artistic director and makeup mastermind, gave models an angelic look that was meant to enhance their natural features. So, when you’re planning how you want to do your makeup for your big day, keep some of Gucci’s tips in mind—you probably don't need as much makeup as you think to look glowy and gorgeous!

1. Less is more.
“I was thinking of a beautiful bride and what she should look like in my mind. And I don’t think you should ever really go too far from what you look like, or what your fiancé knows you as. So going with that, you should just enhance what you have as much as possible.”

2. Use primer!
“First I did moisturizer, and then I did primer, which is an important step for a bride. It also helps keep the makeup longer. Using long-wearing products is not a bad idea. So I use the Colorstay shadows. I suggest liquid liner and also waterproof mascara.”

3. If you’re going with a smoky eye...
“I think it just has to be ultra soft. This is a smoky eye, it’s just really, really soft. It’s really blended. It’s not, like, black. It’s soft. It’s all about the blending and as if you don’t really see that it’s shadow. It’s kind of just dark around your eyes, which is already naturally flattering.”

So, how exactly does a superstar makeup artist do her makeup on her own wedding day? Gucci went with a similar palette. She says, "I did very similar makeup on my wedding day. I didn’t wear any lip gloss though. It started off being a nude lip—so nothing—but then I did brown [eyeshadow] and black mascara and rosy cheeks. You’re already so adrenaline-infused so much, so you glow already, so anything you do is going to look better. So that’s why you don’t need to go so far.”

Sorry for the radio silence on Save the Date today! I wrote this post in the A.M., then forgot to publish it. {Maybe it's time to schedule vacation days? } Anyway, when I shared the video from Vera Wang's runway show, many of you were feeling lukewarm about the black-and-white wedding dresses. But I want to share the official pics of two of my favorites and ask you to reconsider!

Wedding Dress 1

As I mentioned, I'm pretty sure when the dresses hit stores next spring, brides will have the option to order them in all-white or all-ivory, so the black part of the bodice above would blend in with the rest of the dress. And the black bodice below would match the skirt.

I'm also really into the butt flower on the dress below. I can't remember if it's removable (and I can't find the Vera Wang handout thingy to save my life), but I'm feeling like if the dress and butt flower were all ivory or white, the butt flower might be the kind of fashiony detail that a risk-taking bride might embrace. (I'm not sure if Vera would appreciate my zealous use of the term "butt flower" here, so let's hoping she's relaxing on a beach post-bridal market and not checking Save the Date!)

The only sad part about choosing a wedding dress is all the wedding dresses you see after the fact that make you question your choice! So I'm a tiny bit worried that sharing this preview from White by Vera Wang, Vera's collection for David's Bridal, is going to raise a red flag for some of you. But there's one tiny silver lining: My iPhone pictures came out out extra awful yesterday, so you can't even tell from the pics how pretty these dresses are in person. Hopefully that will be enough to prevent you guys from catching a serious case of buyer's remorse. Brace yourselves!

Wedding Dress 3 This dress has sparkly lines down the front, which you can sort of make out in the photo on the right.

Wedding Dress 4 If someone had asked me ahead of time if this dress was regular Vera or David's Vera, I'd have a hard time guessing! With the structured bodice and the heavily textured skirt, it's just SO regular Vera! The removable wrap thing around the arms is an accessory from the latest collection. And the handsome fella on the right is dressed in Black by Vera Wang, her line for Men's Wearhouse!

Wedding Dress 5 This is the most offensive of my bad photos. The dress is gorge in person, I swear!

There will also be additional online-only wedding dress styles that I didn't get to see and of course bridesmaid dresses, but my pictures of those were too abysmal to share, so you'll have to wait for the official pics!

So YES, he's still a high school student, but a new picture released to EW sure makes it look like Blaine (Darren Criss) is gonna put a ring on it on the season finale of Glee! Or at least BUY a ring for his longtime partner Kurt (Chris Colfer), who's now a college freshman.

Of course Glee has teased us with two almost-weddings in seasons past, so who even knows if we'll get a proposal, never mind a wedding. But wouldn't that be fantastic?!
